What I’ve been up to on my social media break!

Hi everyone! If you follow me on social media, you might have noticed I’m not currently updating! I decided for my birthday this year I would attempt to stop using Β it for 21 days… I’ve read it takes 21 days to break a habit, and I’m hoping this little hiatus will reboot my creativity and help me with some of my time management issues. So far, it’s working!!! Exciting stuff – I keep joking I may never return now! Lol I do miss seeing cute pictures and reading my friends updates, and I have so much I want to share too. Since I can’t post it on social media then why not dust off my blog and put it here! (My blog can post my updates on social meda for me so I don’t cheat on my break – how neat is that?!) So here we go…

The first week of my break, I actually got very sick which made it easy to forget about social media. By Thursday, I was starting to feel well enough to leave the house and I was able to go see Neil deGrasse Tyson’s show at the Cobb Energy Center with my family. He’s an amazing and hilarious speaker – I had such a great time!! We also got to meet him after the show for a photo and signature which was pretty neat. I hope he comes back to Atlanta soon!

Towards the weekend, my health and my creativity returned. I visited the new arcade, “Round One”, near my house to take purikura pictures with Autumn! (Baby’s first purikura?! haha) I had SO much fun!!! I couldn’t believe how many awesome games they had – I only played Tsum Tsum and did two rounds of Purikura with Autumn (which went surprisingly well!) but I hope to go back soon and try more stuff!

I’ve also been painting with water colors… I’ve started a series of kawaii themed dessert drawings. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but right now I’m just focusing on making stuff I find fun during my break. I’ll post pictures of everything in July!

I also got to visit with my friend Jacqueline yesterday at the coffee shop, “Hodgepodge”. This was my first time going there – they had so many cool murals (love the mermaid one by artetak!) and the food and tea was delicious! I look forward to going back – especially with Autumn since they had a play area for little kids and couches. Perfect!

Well that’s where I’m at currently during my social media break! Hope you enjoyed this little update! More to come soon!!

Kawaii craft night!

Image
Recently, I was invited to join a creative group of ladies for a Kawaii Craft night which ended up being a super cute and fun event!!! I only knew one attendee in person but two were online friends that I had been looking forward to meeting, and I ended up making new friends with common interests which is always awesome!

Visiting Paris Baguette Cafe!

Paris Baguette!

One of my favorite things to do is visit cute cafes and eat beautiful desserts with friends!! This past weekend I had the pleasure of checking out a new (to me) cafe, Paris Baguette, with my friends Molly, Colette and her friend AJ! Look at how cute Molly and Colette’s outfit’s were:

Paris Baguette cafe!

Paris Baguette is a Korean bakery chain with beautiful pastries, desserts, breads and delicious beverages. That day I went a little crazy and got FOUR items, a water and a green tea latte. I couldn’t finish it all but I tried to eat a little of everything – it was all so good!!!

My favorite food items out of everything: the green tea and strawberry cake and the green tea latte! I was so in love – they were incredibly delicious!!! Also – the latte seemed to have two little eyes on it… isn’t that cute?! And it’s lid looked like a tiny beret! πŸ™‚

This is me trying to look smitten with my drink lol – I love that it says “SO HOT!” for a heat warning. haha!

Delicious cake romance~ I’m in love with the subtle sweet flavors and attention to cute detail!

I had such a great time and I’m super looking forward to the next time we go back to Paris Baguette!!

Our Atlanta Cherry Blossom “Hanami party”

At the end of March I got together with my girlfriends Molly and Colleen to have a small Hanami Party! I was so happy to find a beautiful spot to have a picnic and watch the Cherry Blossoms in my new town.

For those who aren't familiar with Hanami, it means "Flower viewing" in Japanese – you can read more about Hanami here!

πŸŒΈβœ¨πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸŒΈ Such a pretty afternoon!!

The blossoms were so pretty that day!! We caught them right before rain came through the next day and they all fell. Trying to plan a hanami party is a little stressful but exciting because you have to time it just right so you don't miss the blossoms before nature takes them away! We really lucked out on the day we got together though – the weather was great, the sun was out and there was even a light "snowing" from the blossoms falling.

Cute snacks for the Hanami party later today πŸ’•πŸŒΈβœ¨

For our picnic snacks, I brought warm green tea, strawberry crunchy Rilakkuma puff snacks, strawberry and melon mochi… and my friends brought candy, cheese and bread to share! It was a delicious spread of items and the colors suited the spring time feel.

All our purses were spring-ish at the Hanami picnic today! πŸ’•πŸŒΈβœ¨

All our bags conveniently matched the spring time colors of cherry blossoms too!! I thought it was so cute to see them all piled together.

Have you ever had a hanami party?

If not – I definitely recommend trying it next spring! It's a beautiful and relaxing way to spend time with friends and loved ones. πŸ™‚
