Sketchbook from San Francisco

Happy Friday!

On our last trip to San Francisco, I drew a whoooole lot of cute inspiring girls in my sketchbook… None of them I knew – just random gals I saw while exploring the city. I think I stopped like 20 times in one day going, "!!!!!!! That girl is SO cool, I gotta draw her real quick before I forget!", which led to a ton of spontaneous random doodles. I always feel so inspired when people watching in that city!

Anyhow – I just got around to taking some pictures of some of these doodles (I drew them in Carmine Red which wasn't scanning nicely) and I hope you enjoy!

The girl in the second picture’s curls look so soft, I want to touch them! Very pretty. What sort of drawing utensil did you use, just a pink coloured pencil?

I use a “carmine red” pencil by Ticonderoga and a “non-photo blue” pencil by Prismacolor. I pick those because they are easy to remove through color separation in photoshop! πŸ™‚

I know what you mean about San Francisco. That place inspires me too. Everyone is so colourful and vibrant that their enthusiasm for life is infectious.
